Holland, Michigan based Coastal Container, locally-owned, full-service packaging company has completed installation of the first of two Isowa high-speed flexo folder gluers, marking the initial phase of a broader upgrade to its converting operation.

The 440 fpm dual-feed Ibis FFG is the first of its kind installed in North America. Known for fast setup and quick order changeovers, the platform now introduces a higher-speed configuration that expands throughput without sacrificing flexibility—an important balance for plants managing varied run sizes.

This left-hand Ibis will eventually run alongside a right-hand Falcon, scheduled for installation later this year. Together, the two machines are expected to give Coastal a wider operating window, both in terms of speed and job range, while creating capacity the plant can grow into over time.

This unique side-by-side configuration also introduces some operational advantages on the floor. Operators, supervisors, and support staff will be able to monitor both flexos, improving visibility, communication, and overall coordination across Coastal’s growing converting business.

A more detailed feature article will appear in a future issue of Board Converting News.
