Phillips, Wisconsin based BW Papersystems has announced its continued partnership with Superior Lithographics following the install of a new SheetRunner Sheeter in Superior’s Los Angeles facility.
Superior Lithographics is a key supplier to the food and beverage packaging industry, specializing in high-graphic folding cartons and large-format litho labels. With packaging demand on the rise, particularly in heavier caliper substrates, the company sought a solution to help meet both volume and material-handling challenges.
“We are proud to add an additional state-of-the-art sheeter to our portfolio, and I know our sheeter teams are excited to tackle this opportunity,” said Jeff Ku, President and General Manager of Superior Lithographics. “It’s refreshing to work with a partner that shares similar company vision and values. ”
The new SheetRunner Sheeter will operate alongside Superior’s existing SheetWizard—also supplied by BW Papersystems nearly a decade ago. While the SheetWizard will continue to handle lighter caliper boards and papers, the SheetRunner is configured specifically for high-volume processing of 16pt and heavier board stocks. Key technical features such as a robust decurling system and high-speed splicer position the sheeter to deliver both precision and productivity.
Ku noted that Superior selected BW Papersystems again due to the reliability, output performance, and equipment longevity experienced with their previous installation. But beyond the machine specifications, it was the partnership-focused approach that solidified the decision.
“The BW Papersystems team has shown a genuine commitment to understanding our specific application needs and delivering a solution that fits seamlessly into our operations,” said Ku. “They’ve worked closely with us to ensure the installation and ramp-up support our performance goals and operator development.”
As packaging converters seek to optimize throughput while maintaining quality and flexibility, partnerships like the one between BW Papersystems and Superior Lithographics underscore the value of long-term supplier relationships and custom-fit equipment strategies.
