AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, announced an upcoming webinar focused on the integration of digital post-print press technologies in corrugated plants. Integrating Digital Post-Print Press in Corrugated Plants: Challenges and Solutions, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 18 at 12:00 p.m. ET.
As the corrugated packaging industry continues to evolve, many converters are exploring the adoption of digital post-print press technologies to meet the growing demand for high-quality, customized packaging solutions. However, this transition comes with its own set of challenges and considerations.
In this webinar, industry experts will delve into the practical aspects of integrating a digital post-print press into corrugated production floors. The session will cover essential topics including production floor adaptations, integration with conversion steps, operator education and training, color management, and setup and changeover optimization.
The webinar is created with the support of AICC Education Investor HP and will feature Jesse Zito, Digital Program Manager, Sutherland Packaging, and Doug Hay, Divisional Manager-Corrugate Converting, Vanguard Companies with moderator Brian Fellows, US & Canada Sales Manager, HP. The presenters will share their real-world experiences, insights, and strategies.
Jesse Zito brings over a decade of experience in various printing technologies and operations management. Joining the print industry in 2007, Jesse has developed expertise from front end to Senior Ops in facilities with Narrow web Flexo, Wide-format Litho, Digital, and Rotary capabilities on substrates including packaging board, corrugated, and BOPP. He’s overseen printing, scheduling, project management, as well as folding, stitching, foil stamping/embossing, and specialty gluing. This broad path of experience was paved by process and departmental-level growth during a period of repeat M&A activity.
Jesse joined his teammates at Sutherland Packaging in 2018 during a pivotal time for the company and led the addition of a second HP Multi-pass press, a HP Single-pass C550, and an Elitron high-speed cutter.
Doug Hay has been working in the corrugated business for over 40 years. He started his career as a helper on a machine and has worked his way up over the years. He had done almost every job in a plant until he was promoted to Plant Manager at the age 38.
Doug came to Vanguard in 2019 and is still climbing the corporate ladder. Currently, he is Divisional Manager-Corrugate Converting, providing leadership to the production team on the operating floor. He strives for compliance in safety, quality, waste and productivity.
Doug played a crucial role in expanding the digital printing capabilities at Vanguard and oversaw the selection and implementation of the HP C500.
Brian Fellows has been in the corrugated manufacturing, design, and testing field for over 30 years and prior to coming to HP he was the Vice-President of Sales and Director of Digital for Golden West Packaging Group.
Currently, he is the US and Canada Sales Manager for the HP C550 Single-Pass Digital Press and in March of 2024 celebrated my one year anniversary with HP.
