York, Pennsylvania based York Container Company announced the startup of its first greenfield corrugated box plant in Elgin, Illinois. Since 1954, York Container has served its Northeast customers and now brings new capacity for sheets, brown shippers, and graphic packaging under one roof to support the company’s growth throughout the Midwest.
With over 400,000 square feet of manufacturing space, this will be York’s most modern and technologically advanced facility to date. The full-line box plant offers corrugated sheets, brown printed shippers, and high graphic specialty packaging solutions beyond the standard box plant. The new facility was built with sustainability in mind for manufacturing and for customers alike. York Container utilizes 100 percent Recycled Paper from Atlantic Packaging Products in Ontario, Canada to provide customers with sustainable environmentally friendly packaging for their products across a variety of industries.
“While our new Elgin facility provides our customers with the most advanced corrugated production available, we are just as focused on quality, service, and providing the best customer experience available,” says Frank Adams, Senior Vice President, Corrugated US. “We have innovative, patented products as well as a positive culture that brings a positive wow factor to the York experience for our customers, employees, vendors and community.”
Spenzer Forbes, General Manager at the Elgin facility, said the new Elgin facility makes a strong case for current and prospective customers to consider York as their first choice.
