Siegwerk, a global provider of printing inks and coatings for packaging applications, has signed a definite agreement for the acquisition of Hi-Tech Inks, an Indian producer of flexographic and gravure printing inks.
Hi-Tech Inks will add a portfolio of solvent- and water-based inks, metallic and special-effect inks, varnishes, and over print varnishes (OPVs) to Siegwerk’s global portfolio. The integration will enhance Siegwerk’s manufacturing footprint in India with dual sites in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan and Vapi, Gujarat. The combined organization will employ approximately 1,700 people across India.
The addition of Hi-Tech Inks is Siegwerk’s largest acquisition since its purchase of SICPA’s packaging inks business in 2005.
