Grand Rapids, Michigan based Opus Packaging Group has announced that it has acquired the assets of Palmetto Packaging Corporation in Florence, South Carolina, effective October 1, 2021. 

Founded in 1978, Palmetto Packaging has a reputation for delivering high quality customer service. Its owners, David Searcy and John Taylor, have grown the business into what it is today with a mindset and culture that aligns with that of Opus. Palmetto operates with 40 employees out of facility in Florence and serves customers in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.

The addition of Palmetto is the 7th manufacturing facility for Opus, which is comprised of Opus Packaging – New Bremen (New Bremen, OH; Loudon, TN), Opus Packaging – Grand Rapids (Grand Rapids, MI), Opus Packaging – Jackson (Jackson, MI), Opus Packaging – Indianapolis (Indianapolis, IN), Opus Packaging – Wabash (Mt Carmel, IL), Opus Packaging – Kalamazoo, LLC (d/b/a Mall City Containers, Kalamazoo, MI) and now Opus Packaging – Florence, LLC (d/b/a Palmetto Packaging, Florence, SC).
