AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, announced the latest episode of the Breaking Down Boxes podcast, “From Wheat and Whiskey.” This episode features a conversation with Justin Hill, President of Lawrence Paper Company, as he shares insights from his leadership of a company with a remarkable legacy spanning over six generations. The episode is hosted by Jeff Pallini, CEO of Fosber America, and George Perreira, Vice President of Business Development at Moyy.

“Interviewing Justin was a real honor. His family’s legacy of more than a century of success in the box industry is inspiring. Six generations and going,” Pallini said.

During the discussion, Hill reflects on the rich history of Lawrence Paper Company, founded in 1882, and the critical role customer service, innovation, and employee engagement have played in the company’s success. He discusses how the company has weathered economic challenges over the years and adapted to the evolving packaging industry.

Hill emphasizes the importance of fostering a strong company culture and maintaining long-term customer relationships, which have been cornerstones of the company’s growth. He also highlights the company’s development of its own advanced operational software. Additionally, Hill speaks on the significance of incentive pay programs in attracting and retaining talented employees and the company’s employee involvement initiatives that encourage suggestions and active participation in company success.

“Justin has always been a thought leader in our industry,” said AICC President Mike D’Angelo. He is 4th generation, with the 5th and 6th generations also in the business. This is a tremendous story.”
