One of AICC’s most popular events, the Midwest Golf Outing, took place July 22, hosted by Clay and Casey Shaw of Batavia Container Inc. at the St. Charles Country Club.
More than 100 AICC members teed up for an al fresco lunch and a round of golf followed by a reception and dinner with 53 of the attendees representing 26 box making companies. Prizes were awarded for closest to the pin on the par 3s and as part of a raffle.
The event also raised enough money to offer two $5,000 scholarships. Of the 23 applicants, two winners were selected: Kennedy Dixon, daughter of Brent Dixon of Akers Packaging, and Addison Sextonson, daughter of Eric Sextonson of Ducker Ringwood Automation.
Dixon will attend the University of Tennessee in the fall, and Sextonson will attend the University of Missouri.
