In the world of packaging, point-of-purchase displays, and signage, innovation is key. With the upcoming launch of Digital Print Partners (DPP) in Bolingbrook, Illinois, a new chapter in the industry is about to be written. At the helm of this groundbreaking venture is Karin Mander, a seasoned professional with more than 30 years of experience in the corrugate industry.
During her decades in the industry, Karin has overseen multiple roles, from project management, to sales, to management, always with a focus on operations. This diverse experience has given her a well-rounded perspective on the industry. In an industry traditionally dominated by men, Karin has carved out a successful career by staying true to her beliefs and maintaining confidence in her knowledge. She credits much of her success to the supportive colleagues she has encountered along the way.
“I have been truly fortunate to have some great ‘work husbands’ in this industry who have treated me as an equal,” she says, noting that the industry is evolving to create a more balanced environment. For women entering the packaging industry, Karin’s advice is simple but powerful: “Stay true to your beliefs and confident in your abilities.”
In addition to finding fulfillment in her career, Karin also finds fulfillment in her personal life, especially as a grandmother. “I am blessed to be Mimi to two grandbabies! I love spending time with them and my family,” she says.
As Karin steps into her role as General Manager of DPP, she brings with her a wealth of knowledge and a clear vision for the future. Optimistic about the future of digital printing, Karin sees the industry evolving rapidly, with DPP prepared to lead this charge.
In addition to DPP’s state-of-the-art Barberan Jetmaster 2.0 Single-Pass Digital Printer, it also boasts the Elitron Kombo TAV-R, an advanced, high-performance digital cutting system designed primarily for the packaging, display, and signage industry. Fully automated, the TAV-R fits perfectly in DPP’s “production environment of the future” model. “Between the Barberan and the Elitron, we have the best of the best in digital manufacturing at DPP, which enables us to provide results for our clients at the best possible price,” Karin said.
What excites Karin most about DPP is the collective expertise of the team. “Our staff is seasoned in the corrugated industry and brings invaluable knowledge and insight to our clients. We pride ourselves on being problem solvers, as a sense of urgency is critical to our success,” she explains. This deep industry knowledge, combined with cutting-edge technology, positions DPP to tackle the unique challenges of the Chicago market, known for its tight timelines and high expectations.
