“Time” is repeatedly referenced, quoted, and celebrated as one of the most critical dimensions of both our lives and our society. It appears in poetry, in well-known quotations, or simply in the phrase, “Time is money.”

In an industrial context, however, time is more than a philosophical concept. It is a measurable, economically decisive factor. Machine uptime, changeover duration, and process efficiency directly translate into productivity, cost structures, and ultimately competitiveness.

In this context, time is not only money, it is the fundamental driver of everything.

And precisely because of this, BAHMÜLLER as such a manufacturer see it as their responsibility not only to understand our customers’ needs, but to actively redefine what is possible. We challenge established processes, rethink conventional approaches, and develop solutions that directly translate into measurable gains in performance, efficiency, and competitiveness.

Through detailed observation of real production environments and systematic analysis of recurring operator tasks by BAHMÜLLER application engineers, it became clear that a significant portion of setup time is consumed by repetitive manual adjustments like removal, repositioning, and reinstallation of tools such as hold-down devices, folding elements, brushes, and guiding components.

Based on these insights, BAHMÜLLER developed a new setup philosophy centered around eliminating unnecessary tool changes that significantly improves efficiency by rethinking traditional changeover processes. The core of this concept is the integration of an additional folding bridge, allowing all essential tools to remain permanently installed within the machine. allowing operators to simply reposition as needed.

The system features three upper folding bridges equipped with integrated tooling. These tools can be easily adjusted and repositioned along the machine axis with minimal manual effort. This approach transforms setup from a time-intensive mechanical process into a fast and intuitive positioning task combined with the advantage of the folding hooks with a quick-release system.

As a result, setup times can be reduced by up to 30 percent. This improvement is achieved solely by eliminating the need for repeated tool installation and removal, streamlining operator workflows, and reducing the risk of setup errors for better folding quality and higher run speeds to boost performance.

In summary, the TURBOX setup concept represents a significant step forward in folding-gluing technology. By focusing on process observation, operator behavior, and intelligent machine design, it delivers measurable efficiency gains while simplifying daily operations on the shop floor.
