AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, in collaboration with Board Converting News, has announced the call for entries for the 2024 Innovator of the Year competition. The award aims to celebrate and recognize outstanding innovations by AICC Associate Members. This year will highlight innovations in machinery.
The competition shines a spotlight on advancements within the packaging industry, particularly innovations in equipment, products, or services directly related to the mechanical converting process.
The mechanical converting process encompasses all operations involving direct contact with corrugated, folding carton, or rigid box substrates. This includes but is not limited to printing, cutting, creasing, scoring, stitching, gluing, material handling, and other related activities.
Innovations must significantly enhance efficiency, quality, productivity, or safety. As the premier platform for recognizing technological excellence, the competition offers AICC Associate Members a distinctive opportunity to showcase their innovations.
Entrants must submit a five to six minute non-commercial video presentation of the innovation with Off-camera narration, and the completed entry form, to AICC Headquarters by June 21. The Finalists will be selected by AICC’s Plant Innovations Committee. A seven to 10-minute videotape, developed by AICC, will highlight each of the finalist entries. The award will be presented during the AICC/TAPPI 2024 SuperCorrExpo Conference set for September 8-12 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
The selection process involves a review of submissions by the AICC Plant Innovations Committee, culminating in the designation of finalist entries. SuperCorrExpo attendees will cast their votes to determine the final winner.
The competition rotates its focus annually, celebrating innovation across the industry. For more information on guidelines and to submit entries, visit AICCbox.org/Innovator or contact Cindy Huber at [email protected].
